Google Analytics

Hi everyone,

As part of the review I am checking what brings people here. I have been running google analytics on this site since day one :D. This statistics run since the 17 of November 2007.

Browsers used to access this site:

Most used browsers

As you can see IE won the battle for now (I am not bothered about browsers).

Another great thing about Google analytics is that it show key words used to find your web site/page, and the best keyword out of the 1169 search keywords that brought people here is this one:

"crazy things about microsoft.net"

Didn't bring a lot of people but it was funny that it brought someone, for you that used that keyword all you have to do is work in Microsoft to find out this stuff.

Now for the most hits: the "web application project" post that was done in November has brought 1171 users to this site. More than the actual root "/" of the site which came in second place at 794, in third place it was "web application project still not working in 2008" with 450 visits. Closely behind was "unofficial aspnet mvc", "using connection dialog from visual studio" and "dynamic controls and content aspnet".

There is a lot more Google analytics gathers some much data that allows you to find areas in which to put some or less effort in to it. Like what kind of content brings people in (my case web applications are big thing), what kind of stuff people are not so interested about etc. One thing about analytics is that you can see a map overlay of the visit in any period of time. see below the statistics of country visits since November 2007.

Top Visits Lowest visits
Highest Country visitors Lowest Country visitors

Brazil 14th place. I love brazil my lovely country ! Beijos para todos! I will do a poll to find out if anyone wants me to post in portuquese. Wink wink.

Faroe Island! /salute to you there.

With all this hopefully I can get a better incite to what make your clock tick,

I got some many things to think about it is all very exciting, one thing that is bothering me is find a nice template or look for this site, I am familiar with the Blogger API so if there is anyone out there able to help me at least get my sections in the right place it would be great.

Anyway I think I have said enough don't want to bored any of you I want you to come back not go away hehe.

Ok some thing else that I am looking to put forward is a some scheme or way to bring more women into development which the lack of seriously damage the industry. We need to open more opportunities and if I can help I will.

Time for a review...

Hello everyone,

It has been a while since my last post, too many things have been on my mind that unfortunately prevented me from making any new and exciting posts (^^,). However I can't say that this wait has only held negative things. I have decided that it is time for review of this blog. Being new to blogging I didn't feel that, with this blog, I have clear focus and understanding (in general) of what is to write, specially writing technology blogs that require more of a semi-professional content, look and feel. I am going to change this blog name, template, I planning to rewrite all my previous posts and more importantly (that is the cheesy bit) I will decide on my mission statement. What this is all about.

I hope that I haven't bored anyone and that my previous posts have in the end help you in some way.

So hopefully great things are afoot,

In the end, who benefits in this is you.

Regards

Portella
